For the 2018 schedule, the WSOP has decided to add nine new events. Five of these new nine are replacing former events common to the WSOP schedule. An example of this is the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold’em event. This tournament will take the place of the $10k Tag Team event. The official schedule for the 2018 World Series of Poker has been announced. A total of 78 WSOP gold bracelet events will be held between May 29 and July 17 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are many returning favorites on the schedule, as well as nine brand new events that have been added. One of the major changes of note this year is that 12 events are now slated to begin after the start of the WSOP $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event, which runs from Jul. 2-14.
“With today’s announcement, we hope there is enough time to adjust your holiday wish list,” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel. “We feel very good about the multitude of offerings on the 2018 World Series of Poker schedule and look forward to welcoming everyone to the Rio in Las Vegas this summer.”
Among the events that now begin after the main event is underway are: the $1 million buy-in Big One For One Drop no-limit hold’em event, the $10,000 six-Handed no-limit hold’em championship event, the $50,000 high roller no-limit hold’em event and “The Closer” a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em tournament with 15,000 starting chips and 30-minute levels

Event start times will remain consistent with the past few years, with most weekday tournaments will getting underway at 11:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m., with weekend events most often starting at 10:00 a.m. and afternoon flights of same events kicking off at 5:00 p.m. The structure sheets for all of the events are expected to be posted on WSOP.com beginning in January, with online and in-person registration is expected to open in March.

The tradition continues with Event #1 – $565 Casino Employees Event beginning in the morning, followed by the brand new Event #2 – $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold ‘Em starting later in the afternoon which is replacing the $10,000 Tag Team Event from last year’s schedule.
Players will be happy to see the popular, big -field events back on the schedule this year including:

What’s new at this year’s WSOP
The 2018 WSOP Schedule is sporting a brand new look by adding twelve events after the Main Event starts, including Event #68 – $1000 + 111 Little One for One Drop (July 7) and this year’s final event, Event #78 – $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop (July 15).
In addition to the new events already mentioned above, these tournaments will be making their debut this summer:

The Main Event
Event #65, The Main Event, also known as “the tournament everybody waits all year for” will start a bit earlier this year. The first of three starting flights will begin on July 2, meaning the final starting day will fall on July 4. The field is expected to combine on Day 3 of the tournament which falls on Saturday, July 7th. From that day on, players will continue to play every day through July 14th when the 2018 WSOP Main Event Champion will be crowned.
Like last year, live coverage of the event will be provided by ESPN and PokerGo. The WSOP will be releasing the structure sheet for this and all events starting in January, where play times will be optimized to accommodate broadcast schedules.

The WSOP will once again provide cash games galore, the ever-popular Deepstack Tournament series and plenty of satellites to help you take your shot at the big time. A few notable side events include:
